All About LIKEtoKNOW.it

LIKEtoKNOW.it. . .  So many people- both bloggers and non bloggers alike have so many questions about LIKEtoKNOW.it! What is it? How does it work? How can I get accepted? Do you make money off of it? Well today, I’m spilling all the deets! I think it’s super important to be transparent with you all on how this whole thing works- not just with LIKEtoKNOW.it but blogging as a whole. Yes bloggers make money off social media. No it’s not necessarily a ton, but me personally, I enjoy it so it’s NBD that right now it’s a few dollars here and there.

What is LIKEtoKNOW.it? LIKEtoKNOW.it and rewardStyle are two companies that are intertwined to bring services to both bloggers and those who like to shop from them! LIKEtoKNOW.it is the app that is used to link all the outfits and products that make it easy for you to shop from. RewardStyle is the affiliate company that we receive payment through- they also connect bloggers with brands and make it easy for them to form a relationship and get paid. The app is absolutely FREE. It makes it so easy to shop anyone who is a part of the program’s outfit- right at your fingertips. You can download it HERE.

How does it work? When I take a picture- I use the rewardStyle app to link all the products in my picture that I want to. They work with most brands (not all brands are shoppable) so it’s easy to link pretty much anything for you all. Once it’s uploaded and ready to go, anyone can screenshot my picture and open up the LIKEtoKNOW.it app to shop any of my outfit details! It’s SO EASY.

How much do you make off LIKEtoKNOW.it? Well it depends. I think the highest commission I’ve seen is 15%. But most brands offer 7-10%. Since most of my items are under $50, it’s a very minute amount- but one that I am SO grateful for. So it really does mean the world for me when you all shop my links!

How can I make sure you are getting credit? So whoever’s link you click LAST is who is getting credit. So if you’ve been shopping a bunch of different bloggers looks and adding them to your cart- whenever you go to checkout- whoever the last persons link you went through is who gets credit! No one gets credit through apps. For example if you are shopping through the LIKEtoKNOW.it and when you click on an item it takes you to the Target or Amazon app, no one gets credit for that sale- not sure why, but that’s how it is!

If I’m a blogger and I want to be on LIKEtoKNOW.it what are some tips that can get me accepted? Stay. Consistent. Post everyday (or as much as humanly possible) but also make sure you’re producing high quality photos as well. LIKEtoKNOW.it likes to see a clean, crisp theme or a branding or some sort of cohesive theme across your feed and blog. If you’re not already linking products on blog to shop your outfits - without LIKEtoKNOW.it- start doing that now!
Get someone to refer you. Know someone already on LIKEtoKNOW.it? Ask them to look over tour feed and blog and see if there’s anything you could do better. If they think it looks good, you can ask them to refer you on LTK and that could help you get accepted.
Don’t get discouraged if you don’t get accepted the first time. I got declined the first time and they told me what I could do better and then I got accepted!

Other ways bloggers can make money, etc:
#ad or #sponsored posts - When I post a sponsored or paid post I always tag it with #ad or #sponsored. This means a brand has paid me to post this but ALL MY OPINIONS ARE MY OWN. I only respond to brands that I think are a good fit or I actually enjoy. Most of them offer for you to try the product and then agree to do the post. There are about 5 brands that I have tried so far and NOT posted about because I didn’t like them or I didn’t think it was something that fits in with what I like or use!  I always try new things so I can share stuff that’s up and coming with you all or just something I’ve never tried before!

How I Save Money While Traveling

I save money while traveling in a ton of ways

Travel. . . Everyone is itching to do it- but it can be SOOO expensive. I have always been a traveler. I am a huge fan of the beach and I try to go as much as I can, but I love going and seeing new places and exploring. That being said, I have experimented in multiple ways on the best ways to save money while you travel.

1. Bring Your Own Breakfast/Snacks. This is wayyyy easier if you're a girl-or you're staying at a hotel. Caleb probably eats 2-3 times what I eat in a day so he doesn't skip meals and he eats a lot at meals too. When I was traveling with friends and even sometimes now, I try to pick a place with complimentary breakfast. Now, there are times where we will want to hit up a breakfast spot- and if that's the case, we'll splurge and eat breakfast. Normally, I am just a quick bite (granola bar, apple, yogurt, etc) for breakfast, some coffee and I am good to go. This sounds like something everyone will think of doing, but if you don't bring it with you on the trip- it's hard to make time to run to the store and grab them- especially if you're in for a quick trip! There have also been times where we'll just snack during the day and then eat a big dinner. Especially when we're in Charleston! Food there can be SOOO pricey- so we will usually do 2 meals a day and just snacks in between. See my Charleston Travel Guide here.

2. Book In Advance. This goes for flights, hotels, etc. If I'm flying somewhere, I always put a google alert on it. Even if its just for a day or so. It will send you an email when the price drops. You can even pull up a chart of predictions of if it will drop more or etc. The same works for hotels as well. I always check various websites too- prices can fluctuate website to website and one always has a better deal.

Favorite travel sites : Expedia // VBRO // Airbnb // Travelocity // DELTA

3. Join rewards programs. Most hotels offer a free rewards program which will knock down the nightly rate! Airbnb offers you travel credit for referring people- literally you can get a free stay! I am a Delta reward member and it PAYS OFF. Even if you don't get the credit cards, you can join their free Skymiles program and earn rewards that way too! It may not seem a lot in the beginning but you save where you can! I’ve looked over all the websites and Delta offers the best airline rewards and benefits in my opinion. Plus I’ve never had a negative experience with them!

4. Travel with Friends / Family!  Some of the cheapest trips I’ve gone on were with a big groups of people. Now obviously this is harder if you have to fly to your desitnation BUT renting out a huge home is a great way to stay somewhere super nice for dirt cheap! Couples trips are fun because you can do stuff together but alone as well- but you’re both saving money!

5. Pack light!   This is my BEST tip for if you’re flyung! Especially if you don’t have a SkyMiles card. Checking bags can add up so I would recommend getting a small bag to carry on! Delta lets you have a small suitcase or bag plus a personal item (backpack or purse).

6. Do the free stuff!! Anywhere you go where you go there always activities directed at tourists. They’re usually fun- but super expensive and time consuming because that’s where EVERYONE is! Because we’ve gone to Charleston so many times over the years, I’ve nailed down the best things to do for free there and I’ll be doing a post on that soon (so keep your eye out! 😉). When we go somewhere and wanna know all the free things to do we usually will do some googling. Then I would suggest going to that location on Instagram. For example type in Charleston SC and look through the photos- you’re bound to find businesses promoting free events or locals posting about what they did that Saturday!

Thanks for reading guys!! I hope to add more, the more I travel! Have some travel tips to share? Comment and let me know your best kept secrets!

Current Spring Sale Roundup

Hey guys! Today I am sharing some AMAZING spring sales that are going on from some of my favorite retailers. I have been buying stuff like crazy for a couple of our trips we have coming up and I am sooo excited. A trick I have learned: J Crew has free shipping for rewards members, it's totally free and you can earn credit off your purchases too. Nordstrom always has free shipping but Aerie and Abercombie have a pick up in store option that allows you to get your item sooner and also not have to pay for shipping. SCORE! F21 is the only one where there's no way out of the shipping unless you spend $50- but still totally worth it! Especially since $50 goes a lonnnnng way there. Hope you all enjoy and happy shopping!

Wedding Planning Wednesday PT IV

Let's Talk Budget

Hey guys! This week I am going to talk about budgeting for your wedding. If you missed the last weeks posts, I linked them above for you so you can catch up! Weddings can be SUPER pricey, so the best way to make sure you're staying on track and not overspending is to make a budget early on.

This is the template I have been using. Linked here.

It includes pretty much everything you'll need and you can always add more rows if you need since its an excel spreadsheet!

But before you go filling in the spreadsheet, check out this form that will help you decided who pays for what and what percentage things are! You can find this here

Obviously this is just how things traditionally are. You can always tailor it to fit what exactly you want on the big day! For me personally, I'll probably be spending quite a bit more on flowers because I LOVE peonies, but they are SO expensive.

This weeks post was kind of short and to the point, but its pretty simple. Your budget will really just depend on what you're specifically wanting and how much you are willing to spend.

You can follow along with me daily on my wedding planning and progress by following my Pinterest board here!

Next week we'll be talking about ways to save money at your wedding so check back for more!

Spring Designer Shoe Dupes

I LOVE a good deal, and this Spring I have searched and found AMAZING dupes on alllllll of the most popular shoes for Spring. Cute shoes can make or break an outfit- but I hate spending an arm and a leg on them. . .Can I get an AMEN? Hahaha. So I usually end up waiting until they go on sale. But by then, my size is usually sold out ( I am a 7, literally the most common size EVER) or it's not even warm enough out to wear them. So I end up tucking them away for next year, begging for the warm weather to hit. I mean, who wants to do that??

So instead this year, go with a good dupe that could be literally only 25% of the price!! I have linked both designer and dupe brand so you can shop either, just click on a image to shop!

1. Marc Fisher Sandals VS XXI
These are literally an exact dupe! I have seen them both in person and it would be really hard to tell which is which! The forever 21 ones are under $20!! They come in a pretty white too!

2. Steve Madden VS Payless
So Payless is going out of business. .. BUMMER. They were making some super cute Steve Madden dupes. You can hardly tell these sneakers apart! Although they can't be purchased online anymore, so check your local store!

3. Steve Madden VS Payless

Also unavailable online! They took off all their inventory and are selling everything in stores! This shoe came in a ton of colors! It is probably under $20 now! Reg price I think around $30!

1. Chloe Wedge VS DSW
Honestly, I almost like the dupe better and not just because its literally 1/8 of the price. I love scallop for spring and summer and these wedges are SO comfy.

2.  Steve Madden VS Target
Clearly these look just a little different but also totally different price points! The Target dupes are under $20 and come in almost all the same colors as the Steve Madden's. These sandals were SUPER popular last year and I have feeling they will be this year too!

3. MIA VS XXI
These are just some popular sandals I saw allll last summer. I found a similar-but different pair at Forever 21 for super cheap! And they are great quality too.

1. Chloe VS Vince Camuto
These dupes are still just a *little* pricey! But compared to over $200, $90 isn't so bad when you really want the shoes! I adore these sandals, they are sooo cute for Spring and Summer!

2. Chloe VS XXI
Love these wedges! I got a different dupe for the Chloe one's last  year at Payless! They may still have some in store (mine was out last time I checked) but Forever 21 still has this cute, affordable option!

 3. Sole Society VS Red Dress
Love the leopard print trend- I am definitely here for it! I really love both of these styles but these were the closest dupes I could find. Sole Society makes some AMAZING shoes, so they are definitely worth the price if you like that style better! But the Red Dress ones are under $40!

1. Goodnight Macaroon VS Nordstrom Rack
These boots OMG YALLLL. I wear them alllll the time and you have probably seen them on literally everyone's instagram! I am obsessed. They are heeled, but so comfy. I found a great deal on them so I bought them right away! There are some sizes still in stock but they are an identical dupe to the $168 dollar Goodnight Macaroon pair!

2. Steve Madden VS Target
The "Carson" heel has been my got to for so long if I need a good pair of heels for an event. They aren't too high and are surprisingly comfy (for a high heel). The wider heel on the back makes them SO much easier to walk in! Target recently came out with new heels and low and behold there is a dupe for my favorite heels! Love!

 3. Steve Madden VS Target
Another great Steve Madden dupe.  I hope you guys like their shoes as much as I do lol. Target made a dupe of the "Kimmie" by Steve Madden. They also come in blue and yellow!

1. Valentino VS Amazon
Love the studded shoe trend! How cute are these slides! SOOOOO much cheaper than the Valentino version and seriously just as cute!

2. Marc Fisher VS Steve Madden
I love a good pair of wedges! These Steve Madden's are my favorite because they are not as high as the Marc Fisher ones so they're easier to walk in lol Mom life.

3. Target VS Payless
If the Target version of the Steve Madden heels are still pricey, there is an EVEN CHEAPER version at Payless. You'll have to go in store to find them but they come in alllll sorts of colors and are $10 right now!

1. Steve Madden VS Target
Love these embellished slides! How cute are they!!!! I am alll about some sandals this year. These will go with anything and I love the sparkle.

2.  Chanel VS Sam Edelman
I love espadrilles! ESPECIALLY these Chanel ones- except they cost an arm and a leg hahahha. I found another cute version for under $60!

3. Valentino VS Amazon
YALL. These are identical! I think they are a perfect shoe for the beach or the pool! I wouldn't wear them for extended periods of time because the jelly rubs!

Wedding Planning Wednesday Pt III

So last week we talked about what you should be focusing on 9-12 months out.  Read that post here. This week, we're talking venues!! Which is super exciting especially since we have chosen Charleston as where we are getting married! Charleston was actually just chosen as the NO 1 wedding destination for this year, which is cool, but it also kind of sucks because now the prices are going up :(. I am only super familiar with a couple of the venues that I have looked at so I am excited to travel back and see these at one point, but I am going to share the ones I am interested in thus far.

But first. . . I want to talk about things you should look for and be mindful of when choosing a venue! Number of guests This is SO important because (especially in Charleston) some venues have a lower maxi capacity, so if you are planning on having a bigger wedding, you might have to pick somewhere that is a little more accommodating of your larger party. Pricing You want to be mindful of your budget! Be sure to look at what all is included. The caterer? Event planner? Bartending? Some places offer packages at a discounted rate for including multiple things. Also be sure to look at times. Some places in Charleston are historic so you have to be packed up and gone by 9 PM! Seriously, I read this on a site. Also for hours, you want to make sure you're paying for an all day event or enough time for the ceremony and reception if you're having both there. It doesn't hurt to compare pricing at similar places either, sometimes a little bargaining never hurt anyone ;) places like to be fully booked early, and they'll do whatever they can to stick the sale! Lay eyes on the location This kind of seems like an obvious thing but you don't want to book somewhere you loved 3 years ago and then go to have your wedding their and it be completely different! Plus it helps to just visualize things and layout, etc if you're planning yourself when you actually see it in person. Photography can be misleading and sometimes big looking spaces turn out to not be what you expected.

Venue options thus far. . . I have only looked at a couple venues in person and so far none of them are a go! So here's to a second round of venues to look at- good thing we have PLENTY of time to pick and choose.

So I have actually visited here before- but never the wedding venue side. They have several different houses and locations but this one is my favorite.

I've seen the outside of this one, but never been in. It looks GORGEOUS and you can tell whoever has been in charge of these weddings really pays attention to detail. They are just beautiful.

I think this picture says enough about this venue. It is absolutely breathtaking. A little further from the heart of Charleston, but I mean still. It really looks amazing!

I have never seen or heard of this one. It is more north of Charleston but from the pictures, it looks like it could be a match!

I love how the palm trees are still displayed all around this venue and still gives it a beachy vibe! They have tons of other gorgeous rooms that would be good for a reception as well!

This one is a hotel- the only hotel- right on Folly Beach. I have always dreamed of getting married on the beach with an ocean view! It just all depends on how accommodating a reception would be there, etc.

So... I gotta know! Which venue is your favorite? Leave a comment below to let me know. You can visit each venue's website by clicking on the name. Have more suggestions for places in and around Charleston? Leave me a comment or email me!

Maybe I'll just change each time we go to another house 😂 But really, I remember when I was little and I always looked for an excuse to buy another dress or outfit.  "Mom, I need this for Easter!" She would never let me get things way in advance because she knew I would change my mind- I have always been the worst for that. Anyways, I hope y'all find your perfect dress and some outfit inspo for Easter!
