Staying Tan at the Beach

Since we try and travel frequently, one of the most asked questions I get is how do you keep up your spray tan while your gone!? To be completely honest, it's SO HARD. Nothing is ever easier then hopping in the spray booth and having a machine do everything for you. Thankfully, I have found several affordable options that make staying tan easy on vacation.

I used to be a huge fan of St. Tropez, and I still am BUT I found something less messy. St. Tropez gives great color- but you have to bring the mitt and it stains and it's just kind of a mess and a hassle. Emily Gemma of the Sweetest Thing shared a couple of at home tanners she had been using and she posted about this Loreal Coconut Tanning Water and I was like okay coconut sold. So I went and picked up some ( you can find it at Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, ETC). By the way it's only $15!!!! If you know me or have followed me for long, then you know I love anything coconut so I was immediately sold just based of the smell when I opened it. This one doesn't require you to wear a mitt or anything either. It's super lightweight and hasn't stained anything for me so far. Now with any self tanner, you will have some rub off most likely- but it shouldn't stain your clothes.

How I Apply

Fresh out of the shower once I have dried off, I just take little by little in my hand and starting at my feet apply. I apply in circles ( this prevents streaks with whatever tanner you're using). I usually try to do it at night - that way I can let it soak in all night and just rinse off in the morning. I use it all over too! Face, feet, everything. It’s pretty dark, but if you feel like you want it darker, you can apply it, wait 10-15 minutes and apply more on top! I sometimes do this with my legs and it works great.

What's In My Bag : Beach Edition

Today's post is about everything I keep in my beach bag! I try to bring everything I need all at once so I don't have to make a bunch of trips out- especially with Liam. Obviously I keep extra stuff in there for him (diapers, wipes, snacks, etc) but this is mainly for just basic beach knick knacks and tricks!

Pool Slides:

These were from J Crew last year omg they sold out SO QUICK. But they did come out with a very similar pair this year too. Get them here.

My Beach Bag:

I actually found this one at Belk this year! I wish I would've found a nice big one like this years ago, but I am obsessed. I love the palm print and it has pockets on the outside for other things too. Since I am stuck carrying stuff for Liam, Caleb, and I it's so much easier to pile it all in one bag!

I have always loved the smell of Sun Bum! I got the Baby Bum version for Liam ( it has no smell) and I personally think it works great. We use Babyganics too at home for him as well. They are a thicker sunscreen so I feel like they work better than others I have tried! This Neutrogena I have used on my face for a loooooong time. It's lightweight and doesn't cause me to breakout.

Beach Towels:

I've shared our towels on stories recently and they are SO GOOD. Super thick and soft but also SUPER cheap. It's hard to find cute towels that don't cost an arm and a leg and these were on sale at Belk!! UNDER $10!!! And they come in a bunch of really cute prints!

Obviously I have to bring my sunglasses to the beach! Here are some of my favorites I've been wearing!

Summer Reads:

I used to love reading books on the beach! I haven't really gotten to much this trip because I have my hands full with Liam on the beach- but I have been trying to read some while he naps. Here are some of the ones I am going to finish this Summer!

Summer Trend : Gladiators

red tiered missguided dress with brown studded gladiators

blonde curly louis vuitton artsy with starbucks

One trend that I am REALLY loving is studded gladiators! I got this pair while I was in Texas and I am OBSESSED. They are super padded and they have a teeny heel on the back. I had been on the hunt for a while now, but I hadn't been able to find any that weren't like $100 or more. These come in black and white as well! They run TTS - maybe a little big. I got a 7.5 and they're a tad big but I think the 7 would've been too small.

Shop gladiator styles here!

My red dress is from Missguided. I love this tiered style- comes in white too! I am wearing a size 2-wish I would've gotten a 4 just for the chest- if you're bigger busted, size up. Probably going to get it in more colors too- I've seen similar versions of it on Red Dress Boutique and Amazon too, so I'll link those for y'all too! I have the pink gingham one- I wore it in Dallas. It's a soft, silkyish material but super comfy and I LOVED it!

What I Packed In My Carry-On

what I Packed in my carry on for our trip to dallas texas with my one year old son

i am wearing this comfy lounge set from aerie and pink adidas

Hey guys! Today I am going to share with you what I packed in my carry-on for our trip to Dallas. Most of the stuff is #momlife but really it all goes for anyone! This will be our first (flying) trip with Liam and I am so excited. I hope he does okay on the plane - but I guess we will find out!

I used my louis vuitton neverfull for my carry on bag

1. Cell Phone Charger Bank

Y'all these things are life savers!!! If you remember to keep them charged - lol! I usually forget to charge mine when I get home, but I have been pretty good about it lately. It lasts quite awhile though. I can charge my phone to full battery 4-5 times before it dies!

2. Scrunchies

You never know when you'll need to throw your hair up. I always keep some hair ties or scrunchies on me - just in case I am in need of a hairstyle change.

I brought my ipsy bag to store some of my favorite lip colors

3. My Fave Lip Colors

I always keep several colors with me! Plus some lip balm. My lips get dry on the plane- literally everytime!

4. Snacks - for me and Liam

Larabars are my fave!!! So good for you but really tasty too! The cookie dough and key lime are my faves. These protein crunch bars are like wafers and are super yummy too.

5. Headphones

I love these pink ones- they've lasted forever! I think my mom got them 2 Christmases ago. The cord is not like regular iphone headphones. Its like a paracord type thing so it holds up really well!

6. Pairs of Sunnies

Pink Quay // Ray Ban // Spotted

I actually keep more than this in my purse! I am a sunglasses addict, but I really just wear my Ray Ban's 24/7 haha!

7. My Macbook

So the plan is that Liam will sleep a majority of the time on the plane so hopefully momma can get some work done! Guess we will see what happens. I always bring my computer on the plane if were traveling- I'm too scared to check it although now that I think about it, I'm not sure that you can  haha.

8. Wallet, Watch,  Phone!

Gotta stay in the loop while I'm gone! But really something really funny happened the last time Caleb and I flew. I stuck some lotion in my bag on our way back from Austin and forgot about it. We were running late and I was running through security (after Caleb) and they told me I either had to check my bag or toss it. So I was like crap okay I'll check it. Went back to the desk to check it and they're like oh it's too close to time for the plane to leave to get it on blah blah blah finally they let me check it. I have like 5 minutes to get through security while I left everything except my debit card ( phone , purse, bags) with Caleb who is already through security. Literally almost got left in Austin alone. Oh and this was like 2 weeks after we started dating so I didn't even know his number by heart or anything lol. So word of advice, take your phone and wallet with you everywhere hahhaha.

10 Maxi Dresses You Need This Summer

My color maxi is sold out from Lulu's. I linked a pink version from Pink Lily! I love maxi dresses, especially for summer. They can always be dressed up by adding a cute clutch, some earrings, and bangles. You can also dress them down with flip flops and a cute top knot. Super easy to throw on and go ( no picking out matching tops and bottoms lol ). I get lazy a lot when picking out outfits, especially when I'm rushed with Liam or he's having a bad day! This one is SO soft and I can't wait to wear it again!

Here are some others I am loving for summer! Every dress is under $60 so they're super affordable.

The BEST Shoes for Summer

Today I am sharing some of my favorite shoes for summer! All super affordable - with a couple splurge worthy pairs ( BUT they are on sale )- under or around $50! Trust me, if I could go barefoot I totally would, but I am also a HUGE shoe addict. Especially espadrilles, they're my absolute favorite so I love finding a good deal on them!

Studded Gladiators

Okay, I have been on the hunt for a pair like these for a LOOOONG time, but I didn't want to pay $200 for them! I found these on Amazon and I was sold. I also found these brown and black pairs too!

Espadrille Wedges

These are a Marc Fisher dupe - I found mine at TJ Maxx for like $25! The Marc Fisher ones are super cute too and come in a lot more colors - both pairs are surprisingly super comfy for wedges - like I walked around Charleston in them all day and they didn't hurt my feet at all!

Leopard Sandals

These are actually kids shoes (teeny feet probz!) lol. But they run really big. I am normally a 7 or 7.5 and I got a size 4 - my store didn't have a 5 - and they fit perfectly! Here are the women's versions 1 and 2. Make sure to do free pick up in store if they're in stock so you don't have to pay for shipping!

Tory Burch Hot Pink Espadrilles

These are Spring 2016 I believe - but probably my favorite pair of shoes that I own! I linked a similar pink pair for y'all! But they're so bright and fun. Such an easy way to add a pop of color to an outfit!

Black Band Sandals

Another TJ Maxx find! They have the exact same pair at Belk too- so I linked those for y'all! The straps are super stretchy and comfy (no blisters #WIN) lol.

Congac Wedges

If you read my shoe dupe post (linked here) then you probably recognize these! $20 vs $80 - so worth it! They are literally the exact same! Wally World for the win!

Sparkly Slides

Found these on Amazon the other day and I HAD to have them!!! They come in rose gold too and are literally so cute! Such great quality and the bottoms are pretty padded so they're comfy as well! Oh and they're PRIME!

Franco Sarto Sandals

I bought these forever ago and I can't find even a similar pair ANYWHERE :( One can dream tho- they are one of my favorite pairs!

Steve Madden Sandals

Another older pair - but these are SO FUN! I love all the colors and tassels! Linked a similar pair that are super cute and under $50!

Fishtail Braid with Extensions

Heyyyy everyone! So after that day that I wore my ponytail extensions, I had so many people ask about them and about how to do a fishtail! A fishtail braid is SUPER easy and I love how it looks!

A fishtail braid, or any braid really, is a just a good, easy way to wear your hair that makes it stand out! I love braiding my hair, especially with these extensions - and its so cute with a hat or athleisure too!

Ponytail extensions, $40 HERE

About the extensions . . .

I've had Bellami clip ins as well, and I really liked them! This one however is the ponytail - which I also love. I am fortunate enough to have super thick hair but if you don't, the pony is very heavy. I would recommend trimming it or getting it thinned out!

Skip to 3:17 for just the fishtail!

I'm going to be doing some more hair tutorials soon on different braids and curling, etc so be sure to susbscribe!

Spring Outfit Roundup
