Staying Tan at the Beach

Saturday, June 1, 2019

Since we try and travel frequently, one of the most asked questions I get is how do you keep up your spray tan while your gone!? To be completely honest, it’s SO HARD. Nothing is ever easier then hopping in the spray booth and having a machine do everything for you. Thankfully, I have found several affordable options that make staying tan easy on vacation.

I used to be a huge fan of St. Tropez, and I still am BUT I found something less messy. St. Tropez gives great color- but you have to bring the mitt and it stains and it’s just kind of a mess and a hassle. Emily Gemma of the Sweetest Thing shared a couple of at home tanners she had been using and she posted about this Loreal Coconut Tanning Water and I was like okay coconut sold. So I went and picked up some ( you can find it at Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, ETC). By the way it’s only $15!!!! If you know me or have followed me for long, then you know I love anything coconut so I was immediately sold just based of the smell when I opened it. This one doesn’t require you to wear a mitt or anything either. It’s super lightweight and hasn’t stained anything for me so far. Now with any self tanner, you will have some rub off most likely- but it shouldn’t stain your clothes.
How I Apply

Fresh out of the shower once I have dried off, I just take little by little in my hand and starting at my feet apply. I apply in circles ( this prevents streaks with whatever tanner you’re using). I usually try to do it at night – that way I can let it soak in all night and just rinse off in the morning. I use it all over too! Face, feet, everything. It’s pretty dark, but if you feel like you want it darker, you can apply it, wait 10-15 minutes and apply more on top! I sometimes do this with my legs and it works great.
