The BEST Way to Print Invites, Announcements, etc!

Hey guys! I’m so excited to share with you guys an amazing way to print literally anything! Business cards, wedding invitations, graduation announcements, and more! Basic invites has tons of super cute designs that you can customize to fit your needs with a ton of color options- almost unlimited, so the possibilities are endless. They also have options for you to upload your own design as well.

I’ve been trying to get business cards to showcase my website and blog and I have ordered a few that have just been blah or not turned out how I wanted. I created these on basicinvite.com . The process was easy, and they walked me through every step. It also allowed me to check and re check my design for spelling, etc. I am so happy with how they turned out and how quickly they arrived!

I serisouly love how they turned out! 😻

Now I have got to get working on designing my wedding invitations, and, thankfully, they do it all! The invites, RSVPs, programs, and more. I am so excited to start working on them as well. The variety of options is endless and the customization is probably my favorite part. You can reach out to them any time along the way and they are there to help you.

Now that it is getting around to being spring time. . .it's almost time for graduation! And trust me, I've been there so I know how exciting it can be. Basic Invite has a ton of options for beautiful graduation invitations. Plus, they are super affordable! You can create invitations for college graduation, or if you're having a themed party, you could pick one of their hollywood graduation invitations!

I think my favorite parts is that they are one of the VERY few websites that offer to send you a sample of your invitation to make sure it will turn out how you want! They also offer and address capturing service which allows you to share a link to social media or via email and save addresses to whom your sending in one easy step! That will be a total lifesaver when it comes to mailing out Save the Date's and wedding invitations!

Also! Bonus for you all- right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51 !

And be sure to check them out on social media:

Thanks Basic Invite for sponsoring today's post! Although this post is sponsored, all thoughts and opinions are my own!

Wedding Planning Wednesday PT I

I am soooo excited to start planning my wedding! I have literally been planning this for years (thanks Pinterest) lol. Although not everything has gone according to plan, I am so excited for this new part of our lives! That being said, your girl is STRESSED. Omg there is so much to plan and find! Any tips or recommendations would also be greatly appreciated!

A little bit about us. . . .
Caleb and I met in January of 2017 in Anatomy class while in college at ETSU. Although we didn't speak there at first, we ended up in the same CNA class through a hospital in our hometown (we were both pre med) and there we ended up talking to each other about our Anatomy tests etc! The funny thing is we were both dating other people!! Several months passed, and we both had become single and kept in touch. Then, at the end of summer (after months of me begging- lol I know right) Caleb FINALLY hung out with me! We have been inseparable ever since. I found out I was pregnant with Liam around Thanksgiving and we got engaged that March (read our engagement story here). Obviously things did not go quite the way I always though they would, but you know what they say, you make plans and God laughs! I am blessed to have both Caleb and Liam in my life and I wouldn't change it for the world.

How to Begin. . .
Okay, let's be honest, how many of you girls have a Pinterest wedding board?! 🖐
Probably all of you. I’ve literally been planning my wedding on Pinterest for YEARS. Even though it’s semi organized on there, my best advice so far is to use a wedding planner website or app! Here are some ones that I’ve used so far! I would definitely start with a wedding website or planner first!

Zola

I like this one a lot. It lays everything out for you on a timeline and gives you the option to add guests and make a registry. Also, it has a timeline that shows how soon you should be doing what! Super helpful.

Wedding Wire

This one goes a little more in depth- in my opinion. There’s a budget option too, which I love! I think it’s important to set a budget wayyy ahead of time so that you can stick to it and know what you’re getting into.

Granted, Caleb and I probably won’t actually get married until 2021, we still want to plan! The earlier the better! Charleston is a very popular wedding destination and since that is pretty much where we’re set on, you have to do things waaaaay in advance.

Today we actually went wedding dress shopping (YAY). This is literally the most exciting part- esp. for me! We visited two places in Charleston, Modern Trousseau and Lovely Bride. I had an AMAZING experience at Modern Trousseau. She was extremely helpful and sweet and since is was by appointment only- we had the whole store dedicated to us and really had time to pick out and plan. That being said I’m actually building my own custom dress 🤣 but I am super excited!! I want something very classic, traditional, and elegant and therefore I didn’t really find anything I absolutely LOVED at Lovely Bride- but I’ll still share some of the dresses I tried on with you all!!

Obvisouly I don’t want to share my dress just yet! Lol but here are some pictures from today! It was really fun- I’ve never tried on wedding dresses before. Totally a new experience and you’ll quickly realize what you like and dislike! I HIGHLY recommend Modern Trousseau- it was the best experience ever- especially for my first time!

Hair Trends: Hair Scarves for Spring and Summer

Okay so I’m usually not the most creative with hair- as y’all can probably tell. BUT this season I absolutely love the hair scarf trend! There are so many ways to wear them and I think they are the perfect way to pull an outfit all together. I think I’m going to have to buy one for each outfit I wear from now on! The one I am wearing in today's post is from Lizard Thicket in Knoxville!

1. Half Up Bun
I love this look with the hair scarf! So pretty to just add a little detail to this half up bun. All I did was rap it around twice and loop my hair through.

2. Braid

I think this is so cute, just adding it to the end of a braid. The perfect look for a lake or beach day!

3. Side Pony

I love pulling my hair to the side ( I think I look like a boy sometimes with it pulled straight back lol) So if I do a pony tail, I usually put it to the side. The hair scarf holds it in place (without a making a crease) and adds some flare!

Thanks for reading! Feel free to tag me if you try any of these looks- and let me know which is your favorite! <3

HOW TO: Pack for Vacation

Hey guys! So today I’m gonna be talking about the BEST ways to pack for vacation! I’m a procrasti-packer 🤣 always last minute, always forgetting something. It’s 1000x worse now that I have a whole other human to pack for! Today I’m going to share some of my favorite tips & tricks on how to pack LIGHT & not forget a thing.

  1. Plan, plan, & PLAN
PLAN out your outfits ahead of time. I’m literally the worst at this- I know I’m a blogger I should be able to throw outfits together in no time, but that’s the problem. I just always wait until last minute and then I am just stressed out. For this trip, I tried on all my outfits before I packed them, I made sure they were comfy and looked the way I wanted, and then I folded the outfit together.

  1. CHECK the weather
You may be going to the beach, but that doesn’t mean that it will be sunny sadly! I’ve been on trips plenty of times where it’s rained or been way colder than I expected. I always look at the weather a day or so before so I can make last minute changes to my outfits if I need to!

  1. Bring EXTRA, but don’t overpack
It’s always good to bring a back-up, but if you’re flying or needing to pack light, you don’t want to bring too much extra! If I’m unsure about one part of an outfit, I’ll throw in another option just in case, or maybe if I love the shirt, not sure about the pants, I’ll just pack an alternate options for bottoms.

  1. Be ORGANIZED
Idk which I’m worst at, planning ahead or staying organized 🤣 my suitcase ALWAYS looks like a tornado ran through it. BUUUUUT. I found these SUPER cute packing cubes on Amazon! I saw a bunch of different more expensive versions at Nordstrom and other retailers but I couldn’t see myself spending $50 or more dollars on something I wasn’t sure if I would use or even like! So I ordered THESE $20 ones off amazon and y’all - GAME. CHANGER. They come in several colors and each pack has different sizes! Sooooo helpful. Shop Here

Cute Liam pic because well, he’s the cutest & best packing buddy :)

5.  Make a LIST
Making a list BEFORE you start packing is the best way to make sure you don’t forget anything. I always forget something. It literally NEVER fails. So I always try to write down everything I need including outfits and everything! Then I mark everything off as I go so I know I have packed everything I need!

Taking Care of Your Skin

Hey guys! Today I’m going to be talking about skin care and just taking care of your skin in general!

Some of the most important parts of skin care are prevention and protection! I’ll admit, I’m as bad as anyone else when it comes to my skin- particularly my face. I’ve laid in tanning beds, I don’t wear sunscreen, etc. I always told myself it didn’t matter because I am young and I have years to start worrying about aging, skin cancer, and just my skin in general. NOT TRUE. The more you take care of your skin now, the better it will be when you’re older- trust me!

It is simple things like drinking more water and choosing a moisturizer with SPF that can make a huge difference later on down the road. Some tips I (try) to practice on a daily basis for healthier, smoother, brighter skin:

1. Drink at least 64 ounces of water a day or MORE!

 2. Always always always use an SPF- even if it’s cloudy, those rays will still get ya! ( I sneak mine into my daily moisturizer linked here

3. Spray tan - if ya can! (Trust me, I’m not judging if you lay in the bed, I did it for years, just giving my opinion! 😉)

4. Make sure you’re using the right products- just because your skin is oily doesn’t mean you don’t need a moisturizer. Most of the time if your skin is oily it’s BECAUSE you NEED one. Your skin is overcompensating because it’s actually dry!

5.Do preventive treatments!

I am getting a treatment done in a few months called Lumecca! I can’t do it right now because I’m breastfeeding, but I am so excited for it. Dr. Jim Brantner (his office is in Johnson City, TN website HERE) is whose office I’m doing it with. Lumecca targets vascular and pigmentation issues- so it’s good for young or old! It leaves your skin looking smoother and more youthful, that’s why they call it a “Photo Facial.” It helps with age and sun spots, reduces pores, and changes the texture of your skin because it promotes collagen! If you have Rosacea or want to smooth your freckles- this is for you! Even if you don’t suffer from any of the above, you can still do it. It will leave your skin with a Photo Facial finish! **NOTE: Lumecca is not recommended treatment for Melasma.

Dr. Brantner's office is really focused on customizing your treatment to what outcome you are really wanting. During your initial consultation, you will talk about issues you are dealing with, what you would like to change, and how those will be resolved.

With Lumecca there is NO downtime and it only takes about 30 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Yes, it is not just for your face! Lumecca can be used almost anywhere on your body. I am so excited to try this out! I will be doing before and after pictures to show my results and I can't wait to share them with you. Please comment or DM me if you have any questions about the treatment!

Current Baby Faves + Liam Sleep MIRACLE TRICK

Hey Mommas & Mommas to be! So after I posted the Chicco Quick Seat the other day and Liam's big boy carseat, I got sooo many messages asking about different things I like to use with Liam! For those of you who have been following along since Liam was having sleep issues, I think we have finally solved it without the crying- praise the Lord!!

1. First, is the Chicco Quick Seat! Yall. THIS IS AMAZING. Caleb and I haven't been able to sit down to a meal at a restaurant (hands-free) in forever! Normal high chairs aren't quite secure enough for Liam and he flops around leaving us trying to keep him from falling and eventually just taking him out of it! Actually, the last few times we ate at restaurants, their high chairs didn't have a "leg bar" (for between his legs) so he was half sliding out the bottom. We have actually had this for months but never got around to opening it or using it (I think we got it for Christmas) but we are seriously impressed. It folds up to about the size of a laptop, just a little thicker, and is SO easy to use. It attaches to any table, lip or no lip, thick or thin! He sat in it the ENTIRE time without fuss! Plus it has this hand tray so that his hands aren't all over the table!

(The cheapest deal I found is on Bed Bath and Beyond just because you can use their 20% off coupon. Linked here!)

2. Big boy carseat! Excuse me while I cry a little bit. No more carrier car seat for my big boy! (He out grew the height limit on our other car seat!) I searched and searched for good safe car seats before I had Liam. My little brother actually had this exact same one, but I wanted to keep looking just to make sure it was the best choice. I really wanted a car seat we could use for a while! Most car sesats are some sort of convertibles but not all! This one is newborn alll the way to a booster seat! So hopefully we won't have to buy him another one- EVER. This one was 4.8 stars AND it was Baby Center's no. 1 car seat for 2018!

3. Love to Dream Swaddle. Liam LOVES this swaddle. He is a belly sleeper, so this swaddle allows him to feel swaddled, yet still have his arms out from his sides to comfortably lay. His arms fan out beside his head in this swaddle.

4. Ergo Carrier

I have so many wraps and carriers and this one is mine (and Caleb's fave). Liam will always go right to sleep when he's in it! It's padded in all the right places, making it comfy for you and baby! It also comes with a block to boost up baby if they aren't quite tall enough.

Liam Sleep Miracle!

Off and on, Liam has been extending his naps to longer than 45 min, which is amazing for me! I decided to cut out one of his three naps (keep in mind he is 8 months old so it is normal for a baby this old to drop one nap). His previous schedule was 7 AM wake, 9 AM nap, 12:30 PM nap, 4:30/5 PM nap, 7:30 PM bed. We dropped the 4:30/5 nap and moved his two nap to 10 AM and 3 PM. It has made his naps waaay longer and he goes down much easier at night now!

We had tried SO MANY sleep methods. Cry it out, moms on call, 12 by 12, none of it made a difference. He would make the most pitiful cry and would just be up ALLLL night long. It made this momma so sad!

The real trick was getting him outside for at least 30 min!!! My grandma always said he just needs fresh air and he will go right to sleep and I swear she was right! When we installed his new car seat we were all outside for about 45 min and then that night he slept a 4 hour stretch at night (this hasn't happened in months). So everyday we have made a point to keep him outside for about 30 minutes during the day a couple times and it has worked like magic! I just hope it stops raining so we can continue.
